Q. What are recalls? What are my options if my books are recalled?

Answer

  • You will receive a recall notice if another patron makes a request for a book you have checked out, and it is the only copy in the UCLA library system.
  • The recall notice should include a new due date for the item based on how long you already have had the item checked out.
  • Failure to return the item by the new due date will result in fines to your account.
  • If you still need the book, you can request a copy via Interlibrary Loans (ILL) by searching on UC Library Search.
