How do I check out a book?

Answer

To borrow any item, please follow these steps:

  • Use UC Library Search to locate your item's location and call number. Books are stored in alphanumeric order by call number (if you need assistance in navigating the Law Library, please stop by the Circulation Desk for assistance and / or a map.
  • Use your BruinCard or UCLA Library Card to check out your items at a circulation desk.
  • Course Reserves are available at the circulation desk. We will retrieve the item for you.

UCLA students, faculty, and staff may check our circulating materials from our stacks for 90 days. Reserve materials circulate for two hours.
